Range Safety Commands
It is the responsibility of each person using a firearm to present it for inspection in a safe state
After the completion of a shooting detail “HAS EVERYONE FINISHED”
Breech flags to be inserted as appropriate “UNLOAD, SHOW CLEAR AND STAND BACK
BEHIND THE SAFETY LINE”
Having proven safe all firearms, magazines etc “THE FIRING POINT IS CLEAR, GO
FORWARD, CHANGE TARGETS”
No firearm/ magazine will be handled at this stage
Having checked all shooters have returned to
the firing point. Into the range will be shouted “IS EVERYONE BACK”
All shooters will then be notified “THE RANGE IS CLEAR, COMMENCE FIRING”
Should a firearm need moving within the firing “GUN MOVING DOWN RANGE"
point area
In cases of emergencies or other factors which “STOP - STOP - STOP”
require the immediate cessation of firing
Various instructions will then follow, dependant on the surrounding circumstances.
