JIM WINS THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Club Championship

This was competed for over two stages.
Part one was shot with full-bore rifles on 18th October on the 200 range and involved trying to hit very small aiming marks at a variety of times – getting faster as it went along. 10 rounds in four minutes, 10 rounds in one minute and then 10 rounds in 45 seconds.


This definitely favoured those with smooth actions and 10 round magazines. Rob and Dave looked very slick, but going too quick cost them some accuracy because Jim, who was single loading, took his time and although did not get all his shots away managed to get the highest score.

Part Two was done on Sunday 15th November on the 50m B range. Using the same targets but this time shot standing unsupported with .22 rifles. It was definitely a case of sway’n’pray. (How come we can hit the 10 ring on a 1500 target but not the same sized round aiming mark on a white background?)
Tim, who was running the event allowed the same times for stages one and two, but cut the rapid stage down to 30seconds, although most finished well before that.
