Timed & Precision 1 Club event - updated 24-4-10 PDF Print E-mail

Image

The sun shone well with little wind, the best weather for a while, which probably accounted for the good turnout for the Timed and Precision 1 competition.

There were fifteen competitors including some probationary members who were shooting the competition for the first time, and they were coached in safety procedures and techniques of a “walk forward” event
s
The Centre-fire event saw some experienced shooters having problems while others were pleased to be shooting Personal best scores.

Dave had to laugh off his flock of 9’s

Dave asked Pat to gauge a shot hole, but Marianne had already decided it was out!

Poor Alex had to contend with two coaches
s
Dave should have done better but had a bad day. Carol started very well but lost it on the quick stages, meanwhile Tim’s 299 was a PB and Rob S got his first Maximum 300. He could have won but Jim sneaked in front on X count.

Small-bore
Marianne would have been up near the top but for a jam costing her 5 shots, and Jason had managed to knock his scope out of line! Apart from that there were very few original excuses for low scores although the Competition Sec says his score was low because his rifle was pushed off line by the side blast from Jims 44 revolver!

There was plenty of help for the the novices when they shot the Small-bore event. And they did not disgrace themselves.
Correction: Following a closer look at the results, the Competition Secretary has decided that of the five Tyros taking part, the two with the highest score had considerable previous experience and has now awarded the "Most Improved" trophy to Nicky.
